Where Yellowood Came From People often ask about my business name, Yellowood, and where it came from. In 1997, a transitional time in my life, I came across Robert Frosts famous "The Road Less Travelled" and it touched me, again. I remember reading it in Grade 12 English Lit and it struck a chord then. I printed
out a copy for my fridge, daytimer and office cubicle. There is still a
little piece of blue paper on my fridge with the words written on it. I
read and re-read that poem. When I read Frosts' poem and hit the first "yellow wood" he refers to, it instantly brought to my mind that special place where warmth and security lies. It inspired me to change my life, seek adventure and find love and peace and create that security, that special place in my soul, my home, my life. |
